Jolene
German /English

Kevin, Kevin, Kevin, Kevin,

Lass die Finger von Jolene

Du hättest niemals nicht gedacht

Dass sie Dich so scharf anmacht

sie bleibt trotzdem Tag und Nacht

meine Jolene.

Sie ist so unvergleichlich schön

Du willst mit ihr nach Hause gehen

In ihre schwarzen Augen sehn

Jolene.

Ihr blondes Haar, die Lockenpracht

Die Stimme die Dich weich anmacht

Und Du denkst nur noch an - Jolene

Mach Dir nur keine Illusion

Du träumst die ganzen Nächte schon

Von ihr, doch lass die Finger von

Jolene.

Sie flirtet gern, doch ist sie treu

Sie findet einfach nichts dabei

Und jede Nacht ist sie zu Haus - Jolene.

Kevin, Kevin, Kevin, Kevin,

Lass die Finger von Jolene

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene

Jetzt macht sie schöne Augen für Kevin.

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene

Sie  dreht sich um und geht zu Kevin,

Martin, Quirin, Robin und Finn.

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him just because you can

Your beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you
Jolene

He talks about you in his sleep
And there's nothing I can do to keep
From crying when he calls your name
Jolene

And I can easily understand
How you could easily take my man
But you don't know what he means to me
Jolene

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him just because you can

Lyrics/Tune: Dolly Parton

According to Parton, the song was inspired by a red-headed bank clerk who flirted with her husband Carl Dean at his local bank branch around the time they were newly married. In an interview, she also revealed that Jolene's name and appearance are based on that of a young fan who came on stage for her autograph.
